Overview
Sr. Systems Engineer - Linux – 25-025 – San Diego, California. Onsite work with travel up to 50% (no remote work). AUSGAR Technologies, Inc., an EOE Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans employer and SDVOSB government contractor, has an exciting opportunity in Information Assurance, Cyber Security and Systems Engineering. Responsibilities
Install and configure systems in the government lab. Support the CDS development, installation, training and testing of the family of systems. Work with DoD and Intelligence Community stakeholder engineers to ensure compliance with government regulations, military standards and security protocols. Independently perform installations, upgrades and configuration of systems at DoD sites (CONUS and OCONUS). Conduct Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of system configurations to verify secure operation. Complete required IV&V test reports. Provide technical direction and recommendations to the government test team. Review technical documentation and witness and report on Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of new software builds and OS patches. Conduct functional testing at the component and system levels. Requirements
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. CompTIA Linux+ or equivalent cert required (Linux+ preferred). Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT or related STEM field plus twelve years of experience. Strong Linux/Unix experience with command line proficiency; Red Hat 8/9 experience preferred. Experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting. Basic networking knowledge/experience. Ability to perform installations independently within 6 months after training. Ability to become a Trusted Agent within 18 months after training and TS/SCI. Ability to work independently and follow written step-by-step instructions. Experience with Radiant Mercury and Navy Command and Control systems preferred. Strong communication and written skills.
