This is an entry-level driver training role. You will learn to drive a tractor trailer or straight truck, delivering and unloading various food and food-related products to customers. All routes are completed safely in accordance with all Company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will communicate professionally with customers and co-workers, ensuring that all services are executed according to best practices.

Position Responsibilities:

Complete the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required with all documentation maintained per requirements. Assist your driver trainer in executing deliveries, following all instructions and directions. Perform required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; report any safety issues. Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; report safety hazards immediately. Inspect trailers to ensure they are properly loaded and secured while performing accurate counts and checking invoices. Drive to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined delivery schedule. Unload products, transport items into designated storage areas, verify items with customer, and collect payments where needed. Maintain security of the tractor, trailer, and freight at all times. Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork. Complete daily records of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. Maintain cleanliness of the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: 0-6 months of commercial driving experience High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent Valid CDL B Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements Must be 21 years of age Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check Pass road test Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one Able to lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights Company Overview: Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, partners with a wide variety of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
