The General Accounting Manager’s primary responsibilities are to review and analyze financial data and reconciliations; prepare financial reports and regulatory filings; prepare complex financial statement disclosures; coordinate activities and requests from internal and external auditors. This position provides effective project coordination and leadership. Salary: $100,000 (full range of anticipated compensation). Responsibilities

Review daily, weekly and monthly analyses and reconciliations for designated staff and areas. Understand financial statements / general ledger accounts to prepare journal entries appropriately. Prepare journal entries and accruals related to the monthly close process. Assist in the close process in reporting actuals and oversee journal entries prepared by the accounting staff. Develop and maintain relationships with business owners and stakeholders for designated areas, such as standing meetings and monthly financial reporting packages, to foster continuous improvement, monitor internal controls, and facilitate transparency between financial reporting and business operations. Provide oversight to maintain controls surrounding designated business cycles. Coordinate external audit. Prepare financial reports including financial statements and footnotes, internal board/management reports, annual report, and external reports as identified. Assist in the analysis and implementation of new accounting pronouncements. Identify system/procedure problems, conduct research, and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Process improvement, standardizing and streamlining procedures. Ad hoc analyses as requested by Management. Occasional long hours may be required in accordance with deadlines or special projects. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. 3-5 years experience in a business-side analytical role on a finance or accounting team. Proficiency in Excel, Word, PeopleSoft Financials, HR-Payroll and Cardinal Students System. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Strong analytical skills in interpreting reports. Extremely detail-oriented with high attention to accuracy. Able to develop positive rapport with key contacts across the team/organization/network. Self-directed and proactive; ability to understand the monthly process flow and anticipate urgent ad-hoc items.
