Early Career Bridge Inspection Engineer

WSP in the U.S. This opportunity supports a hybrid work model that combines remote work with in-office presence and can be based in the following offices: Philadelphia, Ephrata, Pittsburgh, Exton-PA; Baltimore, Edgewood-MD; Herndon-VA; and Washington-DC. Responsibilities
Perform field work inspecting bridges and highway ancillary structures throughout the Mid-Atlantic for deterioration and structural damage Assist with report writing for the inspection work completed in the field Assist with planning and preparation of field inspection trips and maintaining field equipment and supplies Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures to ensure work is completed correctly Complete training on assigned tasks Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience Proficient self-discipline with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic work environment Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Physically capable of performing field work including climbing ladders (40 ft or less) and in close quarters, carrying ladders and gear, and working in adverse weather conditions Proficiency with hand and power tools Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and harassment policies Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training Certification Previous experience or knowledge in bridge inspection or design or other bridge-related work Ability to read plans and specifications to provide entry-level technical assistance on various bridge repair designs and construction inspections Interest in UAS Drone operations Comfortable working at heights (40 ft+) and interest in working on ropes ( SPRAT Certification ) enjoys outdoor work and travel opportunities Compensation
Expected Salary Range: $56,300-$92,900 About WSP
