Overview Join our dynamic Development team at a thriving, high-growth SaaS company as a Technical Lead. This opportunity is ideal for a Principal level developer to mentor a team of engineers. The Technical Lead at BigTime will drive the technical direction of projects, help set coding standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives. They will provide leadership and mentorship to the development team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation while remaining a high-producing individual contributor.

What you’ll be accountable for

Mentoring a team of developers and reporting to a higher-level manager or director

Ensuring projects are delivered on time and that the team meets its goals and objectives

Building and maintaining applications using React, C# .NET (Core and Framework), Python, and Microsoft SQL Server

Conducting thorough code reviews to ensure development standards are met and leading quality assurance testing

Partnering with product management to bring products to life; working closely with cross-functional teams, including customer experience teams, to align software solutions with business needs

Testing AI coding tools and other new technologies/methodologies to improve efficiency and processes

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Minimum of 8 years of software development experience with focus on React, C# .NET (Core and Framework), Python, Microsoft SQL Server, observability solutions, and cloud-native services (AWS, Azure, etc.)

Experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor) to accelerate development while maintaining code quality

3–5 years of experience mentoring other developers on standards, best practices, and modernization efforts

Experience leading the technical direction for secure, scalable, performant, and testable software from concept to production

Experience with monolithic and distributed architectures and migrating toward distributed systems

Experience adopting modern technologies, reducing technical debt, and transforming applications using patterns like the strangler fig

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in complex code environments

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Experience designing and implementing complex integrations between disparate systems

Ability to understand and debug legacy code and create comprehensive documentation

Commitment to ongoing education and adoption of current technologies and development practices

Competitive total compensation with an expected base range of $140,000 - $180,000, plus annual bonus and an extensive benefits package
