Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) – San Jose, CA area. The PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy sites near San Jose, California. The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while always maintaining safety and professionalism. Local candidates should reside within 50 miles of the San Jose area. Core Responsibilities

Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment. Documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules. Provide working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with digital multimeters, megohm testers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment and ensure proper working order. Maintain a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Work solo and in a group environment. Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per company policy. Core Experience

2+ years’ experience in Commercial/Industrial O&M on solar power plants is preferred. Preventative maintenance experience on Solar Utility equipment is preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills. Experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment (examples: TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI) is preferred. Ability to escalate issues at site when needed. Ability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into Apprentices. High aptitude and a strong work ethic. Physical/Work Environment

Exposure to ambient temperatures while working outdoors. Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds. May require working on weekends and holidays, including an on-call service availability. Travel requirements up to 25% travel. Compensation

$25.00-$42.00 hourly/DOE. Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, and location. In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for bonuses, stipends, company vehicle, per diem, or other applicable compensation.
