Head of Grid Flexibility - VPPs | DERMS | Divisional Manager @ Piper Maddox We are seeking a Development Engineering Director to lead the engineering, technical evaluation, and design of renewable energy projects across solar, storage, and microgrids. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the clean energy transition while working with an innovative, growth-oriented team. Responsibilities
Lead technical due diligence and design for solar, storage, and microgrid projects. Manage project design and interconnection activities, ensuring compliance and optimization. Oversee consultants, EPCs, and subcontractors while coordinating with utilities and permitting agencies. Support business development through site visits, proposals, and permitting. Mentor a development engineer and collaborate with senior leadership to achieve project goals. Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Civil, Electrical, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering. 10+ years’ experience in PV and clean energy project development/design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, Google Earth, Helioscope. Strong knowledge of permitting, constructability, and site approval processes. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Passion for the energy transition and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. PE license Willingness to travel up to 25%. Employment type
