Overview
In this role as Chief Financial Officer, the position will provide both strategic and operational leadership to each of the Bank’s business lines. The core responsibilities of this leader will be financial in nature with oversight of the Bank’s accounting operations including financial planning, accounting and controls, treasury, tax, capital allocation decisions, and liquidity/funding activities. The qualified candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the Bank President and broader Bank executive leadership team, in all aspects of the businesses while supporting the development and growth to meet future priorities. Additionally, the role will have significant interactions with the Bank’s Board of Directors and external partners/stakeholders including the FDIC and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions. While primary responsibilities for this leader will focus on finance, accounting, tax, treasury, etc., the overall impact to the organization’s success equally depends upon general business acumen, visionary leadership, business judgment, and influential management capability with a solid ability to demonstrate authenticity and transparency in all aspects of this role. Responsibilities
Oversight and compilation of financial statements, regulatory reports, tax reports, and other reports or analyses for internal or external use, in compliance with accepted practice or regulation. Planning, preparation and dissemination of the Bank’s annual budget, along with other forecasts. Participate in the administration of all the Bank’s activities, including credit review, marketing efforts, strategic investments as well as new business and product development with internal partners. As finance lead, will Chair or sit on committees of the Bank, as required and appropriate. Lead the preparation and delivery of Quarterly Reports for the Board of Directors in regard to the financial condition and overall performance of the Bank. Interact closely with regulators from the FDIC and the State of Utah to assist in exams and with other requests, analyses or reports. Partner closely with the Bank’s external auditors to assist them in their annual audit and the preparation of the Bank’s annual report. Ensures adherence with all accounting systems, proper documentation and that all controls are followed. Monitor the Bank’s capital levels, confirming adequate planning for current and future operations. Lead the Bank’s Treasury activities and treasury function, to certify adequate liquid assets are on-hand to support the Bank’s current and planned operations. Deliver all reporting that summarizes and forecasts business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations – while providing the leadership team with timely insight on the financial status and progress on various programs & initiatives. Keeps abreast of developments in relevant state and federal regulations, systems and procedures. Works with the Board of Directors and others to ensure the Bank maintains adequate insurance. Compliance with Laws & Regulations: Responsible for developing, documenting, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing effective control system policies and procedures. Responsible to act in a timely manner to update policies and procedures when changes in operating conditions occur and / or breakdowns or noncompliance with laws and regulations appear. Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures. Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject. Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts. Qualifications
Master’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred. BA/BS in finance, accounting, business administration with equivalent work experience. Fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible financial management experience required -- which a large majority of experience within financial services (preferably credit cards). Public company experience, preferred. CPA license, preferred. Behavioral Profile

Ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence key decision-makers. Strategic Vision & Risk Management: Strong understanding of the company’s strategic goals and the ability to align the finance function to assess and mitigate emerging risks. Analytical & Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex financial data and operational processes, identify risks, and develop actionable solutions for improvement. Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex audit findings clearly to the Board, senior management, and external partners. Ethical Standards & Integrity: High ethical standards with a commitment to confidentiality and transparency. Ability to make independent, objective judgments and maintain professional integrity. Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior executives, and external agencies. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and audit software. Familiarity with enterprise risk management and financial platforms is an advantage.
