Overview
Corporate Controller role at Athelas / Commure. The goal is to build the financial systems, controls, documentation, and reporting cadence needed to operate as a public company within two to three years. This role reports to the Head of Finance and is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, adherence to new accounting standards, external audit, accounting systems, and financial reporting. Base pay range

Direct day-to-day accounting operations including execution of accounting policy, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, international accounting, revenue recognition under AS606, tax, treasury, and stock administration and equity accounting Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reporting processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP Analyze accounts and suggest improvements to reduce costs, increase efficiency, remove manual touchpoints, and increase profit Assist with monthly and quarterly management and board reporting packages Oversee accounting integration for mergers & acquisitions Own relationships with external auditors and global accounting/tax advisors Design, implement, and iterate the accounting tech stack with an eye toward future growth and cost efficiency Lead complex projects that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, or employee satisfaction of accounting operations Recruit, hire, retain, and mentor a team of accounting professionals as the company scales Qualifications
10+ years of technical and operational accounting experience in a high-growth, unstructured environment involving M&A An active CPA license An eagerness to flex between operating at the journal entry level while thinking strategically about the future of the accounting team and company as a whole A history of scaling accounting operations in a private and public company setting Experience implementing, integrating, and/or substantially rebuilding NetSuite, Salesforce, Ramp, Rippling, or equivalent financial systems Strong knowledge of non-GAAP industry metrics applicable to SaaS companies An innate sense of urgency and ability to drive multiple, concurrent projects to completion Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear, compelling narratives Comfort in a front-facing role, with the ability to confidently present to senior executives and external partners Seniority level
