Technical expert for software architecture technology stack definition, leading analysis and improvements to design simplicity, modularity & re-use to provide software capabilities across Thermo King products. Create and govern architecture standards, cybersecurity, and modularity component roadmaps across product models, platforms, and regions with engagement with Product management, Product Platform engineering, Telematics, and Controls teams. Evaluate and select appropriate software technologies and platforms for solution development. Lead tradeoff analysis and recommendations, preparing and presenting architectural reports to senior management. Create software design process standard work guidelines, templates/tools (e.g., system diagrams, calculation spreadsheets, error checking) to improve product development cycle time, promote consistency across teams, and enable rapid innovation with high reuse. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams, supporting the design, review, and implementation of software components. Ensure software meets functional, security, regulatory (e.g., cybersecurity compliance), and quality requirements for industrial and transportation environments. Key Competencies & Skillset
Proven experience architecting embedded controls solutions, including Embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto) and RTOS platforms (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr Project, MicroC/OS-II). Experience in embedded software development and coding in various languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Rust, Python). Experience with industrial connectivity protocols such as CAN, J1939, Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA, secure IP-based protocols, and Automotive Ethernet (100Base-T1, 10Base-T1S). Excellent knowledge of UML, SysML, or MBSE for system modeling and design. Familiarity with event-driven architectures, pub/sub messaging patterns, and distributed systems. Working knowledge of DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI), and experience with automated testing frameworks (Google Test, CppUTest, Catch2). What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or related technical field with 10 years of experience. Preferred that you have experience as an embedded architect. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills for working in cross-disciplinary teams (software, hardware, systems engineering). Multi-region travel up to 5% may be required. Benefits

Base Pay Range: $120,000 - $160,000 Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan. Equal Employment Opportunity
