The
Director, Commercial Itinerary Planning
role at
MSC Cruises
is part of the USA Operations team. Reporting to the VP Itinerary Planning, Port Operations & Commercial Services, the Director, Itinerary Planning will assist in the creation, optimization, and continuous improvement of itineraries to ensure alignment with MSC Cruises’ commercial goals and operational efficiency. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in the office, in Miami.
Your Impact
Support the Director of Port Ops US in the ideation of the itineraries for the North America deployment.
Verify feasibility and availability of future itineraries and manage the berthing reservation process.
Coordinate with port agents to check berth availability and handle any last-minute changes to itineraries.
Optimize arrival and departure times to enhance guest experience and overall cost optimization.
Evaluate itineraries by analyzing the P&L of each itinerary.
Work with the VP of Itinerary Planning, Commercial Executives, and Operations teams to optimize routes, taking into account operational constraints, port infrastructure, and seasonal factors.
Monitor and adjust existing itineraries to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in itinerary planning, port operations, or a related field within the cruise or travel industry.
Proven experience in managing budgets and conducting financial analysis, including evaluating P&L for itineraries.
Strong understanding of cruise industry trends, port operations, and regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal teams, vendors, port authorities, and industry stakeholders.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency and profitability.
Ability to travel as required to visit ports and attend industry events.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Maritime Operations, or a related field preferred.
