Work Arrangement HYBRID REMOTE: Position is a weekly combination of work-from-home, office and field work. Parent Partner will provide telehealth and in-person services to clients in both SPA 4 and SPA 6 (Main offices: 1200 Wilshire Blvd-DTLA and Lynwood).
Position Summary The Parent Partner serves as a liaison for parent involvement and offers support in whatever way is most helpful to each individual family. Parent Partners provide first-hand knowledge about navigating various systems (i.e., Child Welfare System, Probation, education, health, community resources, etc.) as a result of having lived experience as a parent or caregiver. Parent Partners are advocates, peer support, and role models for families, promoting family-centered practices and family decision-making.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of parent support groups.
Provide direct assistance to families.
Link families with appropriate services, advocating for them when necessary.
Provide transportation for clients for linkage services, or other pre-approved outings, per program.
Participate in collaborative cross-system teaming and community-based service delivery.
Work with cultural sensitivity to each client/family and individual needs and customs as appropriate.
Assist with crisis intervention as needed, including being available to client/families after hours as assigned
About Wraparound Wraparound offers child-focused, family-centered mental health services based on strength and needs. There are 10 principals to the Wraparound programs: Family Voice and Choice, Team Based, Natural Supports, Collaboration, Community Based, Culturally Competent, Individualized Strength based, Persistence, and Outcome Based. Our Wraparound teams works with our Parent Partners, Child and Family Specialist, and Facilitator creating goals. Together we create strategies to support families and track progress.
Minimum Qualifications And Competencies Education /Background:
High School Diploma or GED required.
CA Driver License required to provide transportation to clients who may need it.
Bilingual Spanish speaking required.
DCFS and/or Probation case (if any) should be closed for at least one year at the time of hire.
Must be a parent or caregiver of a child with special needs/disabilities.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work well as part of the program team.
Experience working with multi-ethnic/racial clients and communities.
Ability to be flexible and manage a workload with several tasks simultaneously.
Ability to prepare effective written materials, including correspondence and reports.
Ability to complete assignments and turn in items on deadline.
Ability to communicate effectively, in-person, over the phone, in writing, and virtually.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Proficiency at computer required.
