Overview
Director, Commercial (Stations) – Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Construction & Development. The Director of Commercial has a significant level of authority for decision-making, staffing, and budget for their functional area of responsibility, subject to approval by Senior Management on the most critical business and policy issues. Decision-making authority includes the freedom to determine how to accomplish work goals.
Position Details Position at MTA Construction & Development. This position is eligible for telework, currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

Salary range: $129,018 to $175,651

Responsibilities
Provides high-level commercial direction and support to the project delivery team.
Actively manages commercial risk by working closely with the Owner's Commercial Managers to enhance processes and procedures.
Represents the Agency Owner to external entities and establishes commercial relationships while ensuring compliance with contract conditions and relevant standards.
Communicates with contractors and suppliers on outstanding issues.
Maintains consistency among the project teams' commercial management and delivery processes and ensures the client's expectations and requirements are integrated into the program's commercial processes.
Oversees the commercial project teams to ensure the overall program is managed professionally, legally, and ethically, maintaining the highest level of quality.
Develops and implements commercial audit processes and ensures performance consistently exceeds established benchmarks.
Provides detailed recommendations to the program leadership team and the client by preparing budgets, forecasts, comprehensive financial analysis, and other commercial data studies as necessary.
Duties include (but are not limited to): supports policy and procedural changes and the implementation of such changes; input into overall strategy in consultation with leadership.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
MBA/Master's in Law (LLM)/Contract Management preferred.
Minimum of ten years of related experience.
Minimum of five years in a management or supervisory role and/or project/commercial manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization.
Competencies
Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect desirable.
PMI-PBA Certifications are preferred.
Demonstrated experience in project management of projects or project controls with highly complex systems is preferred.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing contractors, subcontractors, or vendors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all internal organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment effectively.
Focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Proven leadership as a change agent and creative/innovative thinker with ability to align business goals with solutions to drive process improvements.
