We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to lead and manage all procurement activities across the organization. As the sole procurement professional, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of vendor contracts, including drafting, negotiating, and managing agreements to support business operations and strategic initiatives. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance and serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors. Accountabilities
Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle: intake, drafting, redlining, negotiation, execution, and renewal. Maintain a centralized contract repository and ensure timely renewals and compliance tracking. Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and functional leads to ensure contracts meet business and regulatory requirements. Vendor Negotiation & Relationship Management
Lead negotiations with vendors to secure optimal terms, pricing, and service levels. Evaluate vendor performance and manage ongoing relationships to ensure alignment with Phathom’s goals. Procurement Operations
Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing procurement insights and spend analysis. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with stakeholders across departments (e.g., R&D, Commercial, IT, HR) to understand procurement needs and timelines. Serve as the primary point of contact for all procurement-related inquiries and initiatives. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus. 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Proven experience negotiating complex contracts and managing vendor relationships. Strong understanding of procurement best practices, legal terms, and compliance requirements. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Phathom’s Core Values
