Overview Join to apply for the Organizational Change Management Lead, Nordstrom Platform & Data (Hybrid - Seattle, WA) role at Nordstrom. The OCM Lead will work closely with the PND Program Management Director, Program Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure programs incorporate organizational change frameworks and best practices, with well-planned communication and adoption strategies to maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance.

Responsibilities

Change Strategy And Planning Best Practices

Implement a Change Management Framework: Lead the integration of a comprehensive organizational change management framework into our program management approach, tailored to specific technology initiatives as required.

Assess Change Impact: Work with stakeholders to assess the impact of program changes on employees, teams, and business units; define the scale, scope, and milestones of the change initiative.

Create Change Plans: Design and implement detailed change management plans addressing communication, training, stakeholder engagement, and readiness activities to ensure successful adoption.

Develop And Implement Stakeholder Engagement And Communication Best Practices

Stakeholder Analysis: Incorporate OCM best practices into how we deliver programs, emphasizing stakeholder readiness for change and defining roles, responsibilities, and involvement for each stakeholder group.

Communication Plans: Create clear, consistent, and targeted communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Executive Communication: Prepare leadership for change and ensure they have the tools and knowledge to communicate effectively with their teams.

Training And Support

Co-Develop Training Programs: Collaborate with subject matter experts and learning & development teams to design training programs that enable employees to successfully adopt new technologies or processes.

Co-Manage Training Execution: Partner with the Program Management standards team to oversee the delivery of training sessions, ensuring they are aligned with organizational needs and that employees are empowered to use new systems or processes effectively.

Provide Post-Implementation Support: Offer post-change support through resources, feedback loops, and troubleshooting to help employees transition smoothly.

Change Adoption And Resistance Management Best Practices

Drive Change Adoption: Promote the benefits of change and foster a culture that embraces transformation and reinvention. Ensure employees at all levels understand the value of the technology or process changes.

Identify and Address Resistance: Identify potential sources of resistance to change and develop strategies to address them. Work with leaders to mitigate resistance and foster buy-in across the organization.

Monitor and Measure Adoption: Define and track KPIs to assess the success of change initiatives. Use data to inform and adjust change management strategies as necessary.

Collaboration With Program Management And Technology Teams

Program Management Collaboration: Work closely with the Program Management team to integrate change management strategies into overall program delivery timelines, budgets, and resource planning.

Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with IT, HR, and Business Operations to ensure a holistic approach to change that addresses all aspects of the organization.

Advocate for Change: Serve as the voice of the employees and stakeholders within the Program Management team, ensuring that the human side of technology implementation is adequately addressed throughout the lifecycle.

Change Leadership And Support

Develop Change Champions: Identify and empower change champions across the organization to help drive engagement and foster positive attitudes toward the changes being implemented.

Leadership Development: Coach and mentor leaders across the organization on how to effectively support and manage their teams through the change process.

Foster a Change-Ready Culture: Contribute to building an organization that is agile, adaptable, and comfortable with continuous transformation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology, Organizational Development, Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Certification in Organizational Change Management (e.g., Prosci, ACMP, or similar certification) is highly preferred.

7+ years of experience in organizational change management, with a proven track record of managing change within technology-focused environments.

Experience working in or with a Program Management Office (PMO) on large-scale transformation initiatives, such as enterprise software implementations, system upgrades, or digital transformation.

Deep understanding of change management methodologies and frameworks, particularly in technology-driven initiatives.

Previous experience in employee training, coaching, or leadership development is a plus.

Familiarity with Agile or other project management frameworks is beneficial.

Skills

Project Management: Ability to align change management activities with project goals and timelines.

Stakeholder Management: Exceptional skills in stakeholder analysis, engagement, and communication across all levels of the organization.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise messaging for diverse audiences.

Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective strategies for managing organizational change.

Influence and Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational buy-in for change initiatives.

Certifications (Preferred)

Prosci Change Management Certification or equivalent.

PMP or Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.
