Overview

Senior Data Engineers are responsible for being interpersonal force multipliers across the organization, augmenting internal capabilities to effectively manage and leverage client data. Senior Engineers work closely with functional leadership and data solutions team members to understand client business needs and develop data engineering solutions to meet those needs. Because our clients are mostly US-based organizations, professional proficiency in English (verbal and written) is required. Responsibilities Data Engineering Leadership: Bridge technical gaps to lead and oversee data engineering projects for data solutions engagements. Apply advanced data engineering knowledge on projects of significant scope and/or complexity. Cross-Team Collaboration: Contribute to organizational alignment by translating context across teams; translate concepts for less technical colleagues. Project Enablement: Ensure large and/or complex engineering projects deliver expected business outcomes. Mentor data solutions team members, data engineering managers, and other engineers; may be embedded on a client team to unblock and upskill them.

Technical Skills

Data Movement:

Optimizes data pipelines for low latency; design and implement real-time and micro-batch processing for high-volume data. Data Warehousing:

Acts as an internal resource for data warehousing with advanced techniques and strategies. Programming:

Deep understanding and ability to handle routine matters intuitively and extend beyond existing interpretations. Technical Management:

Leads technical efforts across related domains, pushing boundaries and addressing gaps in understanding. Data Infrastructure:

Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for large-scale systems integrating multiple sources.

Bonus qualifications

Data Modeling and Transformation:

Comfortable modeling and transforming large, complex datasets efficiently. MLOps:

Understands steps to deploy trained models to production for offline or online scoring.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Data Engineer or related role, focusing on designing and developing data pipelines. Strong Python and SQL skills. Experience with Scala and Rust is a plus but not required. Deep knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes. Proficiency with data integration/orchestration platforms (e.g., Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow). Experience with at least one cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar). Experience with streaming solutions (Spark Streaming, Kafka, or Flink) desirable but not required. Strong experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Familiarity with MLOps is a plus but not required. Experience mentoring and advising other engineers. Ability to define and explain long-term technical architecture and procedures. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $140,000 $155,000 annually. Please note compensation packages are finalized after the interview process based on competencies and skills demonstrated for this role. Core Company Values
