Overview
Responsible for enterprise-wide data design, balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors. This role designs and constructs data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts; focuses on enterprise-wide data modeling and database design; defines data architecture standards, policies, and procedures for data elements and nomenclature; applies data content standards to technology projects. Also responsible for business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis and design, database management systems optimization, recovery strategy, and load strategy design and implementation.
Responsibilities
Design and maintain enterprise data architectures, including data models, data stores, data marts, and data warehouses.
Define and enforce data architecture standards, policies, and data element nomenclature across the organization.
Balance data access optimization with batch loading and resource utilization considerations.
Lead business analysis, data acquisition and access analysis, and design for data solutions.
Optimize Database Management Systems, develop recovery and load strategies, and implement data loading procedures.
Mentor junior technical staff and lead projects involving multiple technical areas.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience with large and complex database management systems.
Complexity: Expert/lead technical role; defines and plans database architectures for enterprise systems; leads multiple projects and acts as a subject matter expert; coaches and mentors more junior staff.
