Supermicro Computer, Inc. is looking for a top tier Database Administrator in our headquarters located in San Jose, CA. Responsibilities
Provide 24x7 production support for a large number of SOX-compliant databases globally, ensuring prompt response to emergency situations and system outages. Monitor access logs, sensitive data update logs, and critical error logs to detect and respond promptly to unauthorized changes and security incidents. Ensure appropriate alerts are triggered for quick resolution. Ensure compliance with Segregation of Duties (SOD) standards and policies to safeguard sensitive production database data. Maintain the security and data integrity of production databases in strict adherence to SOX compliance standards. Implement and maintain robust high-availability architecture, disaster recovery, and backup solutions for mission-critical systems. Execute emergency response protocols, troubleshooting and resolving high-severity database incidents promptly to minimize service impact. Perform migrations and upgrades of large-scale existing databases to align with industry best practices and compliance requirements. Collaborate with Application and IT teams to design and optimize database environments for high performance and scalability. Proactively monitor and maintain all production databases, responding to SQL alerts and resolving issues. Perform advanced database administration, including automation of installation, configuration, patching, space management, and recovery procedures. Manage SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups for high availability and fault tolerance. Conduct comprehensive database reviews and recommend improvement solutions to application owners. Provide technical documentation, operational procedures, operation status and analysis reports to IT management teams. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive knowledge of database internals, security, encryption, and performance optimization. Proficiency in T-SQL programming and complex query optimization. Experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, migration, and HA/DR strategies. Strong understanding of MS SQL Server database technologies and architecture principles. Ability to provide 24x7 support for production environments, including emergency response for high-priority incidents. Experience with monitoring tools and proactive alert systems for access logs and error logs. Familiarity with SOX compliance standards and Segregation of Duties (SOD) policies. Experience with both on-premise and cloud environments. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in team environments. Preferred Skills
Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL is advantageous. Knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS is a plus. Proficiency in SQL Server Extended Events, Profiler, T-SQL, PowerShell, and SQL migration strategies. Proficiency in PowerShell and SQL monitoring tools/solutions. Working and Employment Details
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. Salary Range:
$79,000 - $131,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
