Overview We are seeking a strategic and technically proficient
Director of IT Finance Systems
to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our financial systems, with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance. This role requires a dynamic leader with deep technical expertise, business acumen, and proven experience managing cross-functional teams and complex enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop, execute, and maintain a long-term roadmap for finance systems aligned with business goals and transformation initiatives.
Collaborate with Finance, IT, and executive leadership to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively.
Lead strategic planning for system upgrades, migrations, and integrations across platforms.
Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, particularly within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Azure ecosystems, to drive innovation and efficiency.
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 15–20 IT professionals, including developers, analysts, and support staff.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Manage workload and project timelines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Technical Expertise
Oversee the implementation, customization, and maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance modules.
Ensure seamless integration between Dynamics 365 and other enterprise systems (e.g., Contract Management System, Claims, Cancellations, Data Warehouse).
Lead the design and development of solutions within the Dynamics 365 platform.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Provide continued support and guidance on legacy finance systems, Microsoft Great Plains (GP).
Ensure system industry standard compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, security, and audit requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary liaison between IT and Finance, ensuring alignment of technology solutions with business needs.
Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders to gather feedback, manage expectations, and report progress.
Lead cross-functional meetings and workshops to drive consensus and decision-making.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications
Education Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience
10+ years of experience in IT with a focus on financial systems.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (implementation and maintenance).
Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains (GP) finance modules a plus.
Proven experience in software development and business analysis.
Industry experience in insurance and/or automotive is a plus.
Leadership
Demonstrated success managing mid-sized technical teams.
Strong project management and change management skills.
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of the Dynamics 365 ecosystem, including integrations and customizations.
Proficiency in development languages and tools relevant to Dynamics 365.
Certification in Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant and Apps Developer a plus.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S
Must be able to successfully pass a background check
