Responsibilities Strategic Planning: design and execute business development plans and budgets for the practice groups and individual attorneys; adjust plans proactively as market conditions change to deliver results aligned with strategic priorities. Business and Client Development: identify strategies to maximize new business opportunities and relationship expansion; manage RFP responses and produce client-centric, data-driven pitches; collaborate with BDMs, marcom, administrative departments, and lawyers on cross-practice opportunities; support cross-selling initiatives. Research and Knowledge Management: assess client needs, monitor competitive landscape, manage research on targets, industries, and competitors; leverage the firms CRM to manage relationships and track activity. Project and Performance Management: manage deadlines, maintain a pipeline in the CRM, and track/report results of pitches, proposals, and referrals. Training and Coaching: support lawyers in learning and applying business development best practices; provide guidance to achieve goals. Marketing Communications and Events: devise strategies to raise visibility through speaking, sponsorships, writing opportunities; coordinate with marketing and communications for events, blogs, podcasts, and content strategy. Directory Submissions: develop strategic award submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500) and other recognitions. New Attorney Integration: assist lateral attorneys with integration, initial BD planning, client transitions, and cross-practice connections.
Qualifications
Client-service oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset; proactive and detail-oriented marketing professional. Undergraduate degree required; minimum 5 years of marketing or business development experience. Strong writing, project management, research, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
