LOCAL NEWS LIVE is hiring an anchor to host on our 24/7 live national news network. LNL’s ideal candidate has a passion for journalism, a strong background in storytelling, a desire to dominate live, breaking news coverage, as well as the big stories of the day across the country. The anchor should think on their feet, thrive on what’s happening in the moment, and embrace a startup culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following: Anchor breaking news coverage, live events, and newscasts. Proven ability to present the news unscripted. Write headlines and scripts to contribute to the overall quality of the channel. Prepare and execute strong live interviews and conversations with newsmakers and guests through research and knowledge of topics, and be involved in the booking process. Collaborate with producers to develop and deliver compelling news coverage. Process constantly changing information for presentation in a non-scripted live environment. Assist producers with newsgathering, preparation for live events, and procuring resources. Qualifications/Requirements
BS/BA in journalism, communications, or related field preferred. Three or more years as a news anchor at a TV station. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and a collaborative approach. Familiarity with ENPS, Edius, BitCentral, and digital content management systems. Skilled communicator capable of speaking to a diverse audience and conveying messages effectively.
