Sr. Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
role at
Supermicro . The position is based at our headquarters in San Jose, CA, and will lead Health & Safety efforts across all sites globally. The EHS Manager will help operate a loss-free, continuously improving work environment by instituting Health & Safety policies, training and awareness programs, and incident investigations, while developing program metrics.
Responsibilities
Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures comply with risk exposures and regulatory requirements.
Build a culture that values health, safety and compliance; oversee health & safety training for the company.
Develop and institute practices for identifying and managing hazardous materials, equipment and processes in line with Health & Safety policies.
Utilize site and insurance data to evaluate liability, financial impact, and strategies for accident prevention.
Supervise Health & Safety Leads at all sites globally to ensure standards align with local regulations.
Collaborate with HR, Facilities, Sustainability, Department Managers, and ISO Team to coordinate Health & Safety activities, inspections, corrective actions, and materials.
Review safety work procedure suggestions and submit recommendations for management review when appropriate.
Lead the company-wide Safety Committee and participate in Operations and Compliance Committees to address safety matters.
Ensure Health & Safety alignment with ISO 9001 and lead adoption of ISO 45001.
Maintain current Health & Safety certifications at all sites and track requirements via master regulatory list.
Lead or oversee investigations, conduct root-cause analysis, and plan remediation.
Act as primary contact with insurance carriers on Health & Safety matters.
Support worker compensation investigations in collaboration with HR.
Coordinate Health & Safety with broader Sustainability goals and metrics.
Coordinate with Sustainability on health and safety items impacting environmental or social compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
At least 8 years of Health & Safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with office and facilities Health & Safety is a plus.
Experience and knowledge of OSHA/leading Health & Safety regulations is required.
Familiarity with Health & Safety Management System standards, including ISO standards, is required.
Understanding of model Health & Safety programs and ability to benchmark with industry best practice.
Ability to articulate Health & Safety in terms of risk and its inclusion in business continuity planning.
Ability to recommend job functions to incorporate Health & Safety and to implement accountability and feedback mechanisms across operations.
Excellent communication skills and ability to develop action plans for injury prevention programs.
Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills; able to work with department managers, supervisors and staff involved in prevention efforts.
Salary Range $130,000 - $153,000
The salary offered will depend on location, level, education, training, skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for bonus and equity programs.
