Applied Scientist III

to join our algorithmic and research science team. You’ll work on mathematically rigorous, research-driven problems at production scale. This role sits at the intersection of theory and application, designing algorithms that combine elegant modeling with measurable business impact. You’ll tackle challenges across traffic shaping, fraud detection, ad quality, pricing strategies, and auction theory, using both deep learning and classical machine learning techniques. As the heart of the InMobi Exchange, you’ll formulate models, evaluate assumptions, tailor them to production needs, and bring them to life. Many challenges have no off-the-shelf solutions; you’ll bridge research and production with scientific creativity. If you thrive on solving high-impact problems that shape a global advertising marketplace, this is the place for you. The impact you’ll make

Operate at the intersection of cutting-edge research and massive-scale production, powering a global marketplace with real-time decisions. Your work will be prototyped, published when appropriate, and deployed to drive measurable business impact. Formulate, analyze, and implement algorithms powering real-time auctions, dynamic pricing, bid shaping, pacing, and traffic allocation at scale. Design and experiment with methods in online learning, reinforcement learning, multi-armed bandits, forecasting, game theory, and Bayesian modeling in non-stationary, adversarial environments. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deploy models in production and run real-world experiments with rapid feedback. Contribute to the scientific community by publishing high-quality research and staying current with advances in ML and statistics. Evaluate long-term dynamics of deployed algorithms, considering feedback, exploration-exploitation, and multi-agent incentives. Translate business challenges into research questions and propose high-impact methodologies. Turn mathematical ideas into practical, high-performance production algorithms. Close the loop between model predictions and real-world outcomes, refining based on system behavior. The experience we need

Education : Ph.D. (preferred) or Master’s in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, or related quantitative field. Experience : 5.5–7 years in algorithmic or applied research, with some production deployment experience. Core capabilities

(one or more): Statistical learning theory, optimization, probability, information theory Causal inference, decision theory, game theory Online learning, bandits, reinforcement learning, Bayesian methods Strong publication record is a plus (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, KDD, etc.) Proficient in Python with NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch, or TensorFlow Experience with big data platforms such as Apache Spark and distributed computing Researcher mindset: questions first, validation rigorous End-to-end ownership: from idea to production in applied settings Ad tech, marketplaces, or dynamic pricing experience is helpful but not required What we build
