The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Winter Park. Winter Park Memorial Hospital has served the community for more than 50 years and is a 307-bed acute care facility. Responsibilities
The Director of Engineering strategically plans, develops, coordinates, and administers all activities of the Engineering department and the overall facility. Provides expert-level oversight of complex construction, building initiatives, RFPs, and associated costs and capital requests. Directs day-to-day operational activities for engineering services, repairs, landscaping, and facility maintenance to ensure safe and efficient hospital operation. Maintains a comfortable physical environment for patients, visitors and staff in alignment with AdventHealth’s Mission Integration Plan. Ensures compliance with State and Federal standards relating to hospital, system utilities, and equipment; acts as key authority on disaster and emergency preparation and management. Strategically plan and oversee daily operations of the Engineering department to provide services, repairs, and preventative maintenance that ensure safe and efficient operation of the hospital. Coordinate all utility shutdowns and notifications to ensure safety and a comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff. Oversee minor construction and renovation projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion; serve as project liaison for Office of Design & Construction projects on campus. Prepare the facility for emergencies or disasters and ensure rapid department response; lead remediation and recovery with multiple departments and contractors when incidents subside. Utilize knowledge of mold and mildew remediation to maintain a safe, healing environment. Maintain AdventHealth / DOH Water Management programs, ensuring compliance and safety of utility and potable water systems. Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field or Technical Degree in related field. Three years of management/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting over engineering, facilities maintenance, or construction. Five years’ experience in a healthcare environment. Certified Healthcare Engineer (CHE) designation from the Florida Healthcare Engineering Association within one year of orientation or equivalent. Valid Class “E” Florida Driver’s license with driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Preferred). Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) designation from ASHE or equivalent (Preferred). Benefits
