The Director of Learning and Event Management oversees educational programs, curriculum design and implementation, and event management of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. This includes but is not limited to new member education, convention and regional programming, and assessment strategies. Under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, this role is also responsible for aspects of the Fraternity’s strategic initiatives and research partnerships. Responsibilities
Oversee and expand the in-person and online educational and leadership programs (e.g., Zenith Officers Institute, Leadership Academy, Volunteer Development Institute, Regional Conferences, Convention, membership education, volunteer training, health & safety, national-to-local chapter training and programming aligned with the Fraternity’s strategic initiatives). Manage educational and leadership program oversight including curriculum design, development, and program assessment. Identify, train, certify volunteer facilitators; collaborate with the national education committee. Coordinate full-cycle programming logistics and registration processes with staff; collaborate on marketing, design, and layout of program materials and campaigns. Collaborate with Chapter Services to promote and implement the Fraternity’s educational programs. Prepare, summarize, and analyze program evaluations; develop reports presenting achievement metrics. Manage self-service digital resources, self-paced learning paths, and online educational training. Implement mental health, well-being, and bystander programming; evaluate impact and recommend changes. Enhance partnership with Plaid, LLC to develop education and leadership opportunities through the Plaid LMS. Coordinate with Chapter Services to support training and curriculum development for volunteer education and health & safety education alignment with the Fraternity’s philosophy. Implement and assess the Fraternity’s new member program annually. Determine officer resources and training needs for staff and chapter leaders; strategize and communicate with undergraduates and volunteers. Manage the Brotherhood Survey and Assessment program; assist with planning and staffing events as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum/Instructional Design, Higher Education/Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred. Minimum of three years relevant work experience. Experience with or in a non-profit/not-for-profit/volunteer organization is a plus. Detail-oriented with a big-picture vision; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Experience developing and facilitating small- and large-scale programming, conference research, and presentations. Knowledge of student development and adult learning theory is a plus; working knowledge of education, instructional design, assessment methods, and LMS experience. Proactive, self-directed, and capable of solving problems with others; strong analytical thinking and interpersonal skills. Strong written and oral communication, customer service, program management, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, stay motivated, and meet deadlines; flexible schedule including travel, evening/weekend events, and in-person meetings as needed. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Canva is a plus; fraternity/sorority experience is a plus; Phi Kappa Tau membership is beneficial but not required. Benefits
