The Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing Center of Excellence Audience Strategy & Community Team is responsible for developing fan-first editorial, social engagement, and creator strategies across flagship brand platforms representing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney+, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures. This team manages community engagement, UGC and creator sourcing, campaign execution, and digital cultural relevance through deep audience connection and integration into wider digital storytelling workflows.
This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about building community and bringing the fan voice to life across some of the world’s most beloved entertainment brands. We have multiple Digital Marketing Specialist positions available supporting various Disney brands. These roles are project hires through 9/25/2026. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be collaborative, creative, and detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of all digital and emerging platforms and the communities they foster. They’ll have a passion for engaging digital communities, amplifying fan voices, and identifying opportunities for community engagement and UGC connected to relevant cultural moments and brand and franchise priorities. The ideal candidate is a digital native who is deeply immersed in fandom and internet culture, passionate about engaging online communities, and detail-oriented in both content execution and operational processes. This individual will play a critical role in fostering fan love, surfacing authentic community stories, and maintaining brand integrity across channels.
Responsibilities
Support specific handles in the following ways: Community Engagement & Programming – maintain the monthly engagement calendar across assigned platforms; execute daily engagement tactics including outreach, surprise & delight opportunities, and UGC sourcing; manage owned post engagements and outbound engagements; ensure reviews and approvals.
Partner with other specialists to ensure community engagement ideation and execution is shared; align with direct brand team leadership to validate plans and ensure alignment with brand and campaign strategies; source engagement and UGC opportunities based on business priorities; proactively grow engagement from digital spaces to events; collaborate on ideation of new engagement concepts; review accounts for outreach and engagement based on guidelines and best practices.
Copywriting – write engagement-focused copy and copy aligned with brand voice; draft and edit engagement copy; route to relevant team leaders for review and posting approvals; ideate new social concepts to engage audiences; explore opportunities to surprise and delight audiences.
Digital Trends – stay informed on digital trends, fan behaviors, platform innovations and cultural moments; collaborate with Brand/Title Digital Marketing teams and Digital Analytics on social listening and ongoing moments; surface insights to inform content planning and engagement tactics; identify new formats and moments for fan engagement based on trends.
UGC, Creator Content and Premium Materials – route assets for approvals; deliver final assets and copy to partners with proper timing and tagging; curate formats to spotlight fans’ talent; develop creator content with brand teams; support Premium Mailers & Watch Boxes and superfans for surprise & delight opportunities.
Partnerships – secure review and approvals with relevant brand; liaise daily with broader digital and content teams to support amplification of studio and franchise priorities across channels domestically; collaborate through the content lifecycle from strategy to delivery of assets for amplification and support.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge and appreciation for the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars or Disney+ and relevant upcoming titles
Minimum of 2+ years social media or community management experience within consumer-facing media or global brand
Strong writing and copyediting skills with a clear understanding of brand voice and tone
Familiarity with digital trends, fandom culture, and social platform best practices
Experience managing editorial calendars and working within approval workflows
Passion for storytelling, listening to what the community has to say
Basic understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking
Superior knowledge of social platforms and its native products
Ability to be nimble and adapt quickly to new technologies and processes
Polished in presentation and communication
Be able to find creative solutions to challenges and use data to drive content development and programming decisions
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and Box
Understanding of Social Media platforms required such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tik Tok
Outstanding organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and creative ideas on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a strong work ethic and high level of confidentiality
Strong attention to detail and ability to use sound judgement
BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, and/or relevant field, or 5+ years of experience in addition to the 2+ years of experience above
Familiarity with The Walt Disney Company’s brand and content
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with tools – AirTable, Smartsheets, and/or Zendesk preferred
Experience in Sprinklr, Creator Studio, Keynote, Google Slides
Experience within brand entertainment marketing and/or streaming services a plus
Previous experience working with large, matrixed organizations a plus
Familiarity with theatrical campaign marketing, streaming platforms, or brand marketing
The hiring range for this position in California is $64,300.00 to $86,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
