is a dedicated Business Advisor to support small business owners participating in our Small Business Administration (SBA) Microloan Program. The

Small Business Advisor

provides hands-on guidance, conducts site visits, and offers strategic advice to help entrepreneurs succeed. The position requires flexible hours to accommodate the varying schedules and needs of small business clients. This is an in-office position. Responsibilities

Conduct financial assessments for clients, including basic cash flow analysis, budget creation, projections, and preliminary financial modeling to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities. Conduct on-site visits to assess business operations, offer tailored recommendations, and monitor progress. Assist clients in understanding and meeting SBA Microloan requirements, including financial reporting and business growth milestones. Assist micro borrowers with loan applications, including collecting documents such as driver’s licenses, business tax returns, and business financial statements. Develop action plans to address challenges and enhance business sustainability. Work closely with underwriters to support clients in successfully utilizing microloan funds. Performs annual reviews on current SBA-micro and regular portfolio to ensure borrowers are in compliance with SBA microprogram and Prestamos. Conduct annual site visits during the annual loan review process. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress and outcomes in the CRM system, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for impact analysis. Perform Tickler Report maintenance changes for collateral, financial, tax returns, insurance, UCC searches, contracts, etc., ensuring additions, modifications, and deletions are properly recorded. Update internal data systems with the most current loan information. Input tax returns, financials, insurance and collateral into our core system (Nortridge). Manage, assist and respond to internal and external customer inquiries via telephone or email timely and accurately. Maintain, prepare, and track UCC Continuation financing statements; ensure the Tickler Report is updated to reflect appropriate review dates. Monitor the Tickler Report and ensure UCC filings are properly tracked and reported to Loan Servicing Manager or designate. Review draft loan documents before closing; review closing checklist and clear all required conditions from credit memorandum and commitment letter before closing. Monitor closing pipeline and schedule closing appointments with customers; present loan documents and explain financial reporting, loan conditions and covenants; work with title companies to coordinate loan closings. Prepare funding worksheet and disbursement tracking sheet for each loan closing; fund loans in a timely manner ensuring the closing checklist is completed and collateral is perfected prior to funding. Take batch payments on the 1st and 15th of each month; collect recorded documents, final closing statements and other trailing documents once a loan is funded; follow up on missing final title policies, recorded Deeds/Mortgages, etc.; maintain internal tracking for post-closing items. Act as a liaison with other departments to foster efficiency and high-quality output; upload all documents and communications into our filing system. Demonstrate knowledge of loan programs and funding source guidelines. May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field or equivalent experience. Experience in small business advising, entrepreneurship, banking, or lending required. Knowledge of SBA microloan programs and small business financial management required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to meet business owners’ schedules. Must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation for site visits. Job Details
