Overview
Data Governance Consultant to design, implement, and optimize data governance frameworks that ensure data quality, compliance, and accessibility across the organization. You’ll advise on data policies, ownership models, and work with teams to improve how data is managed and trusted. This role is part strategy, part execution—collaborating with business and technical leaders to build a culture of responsible data use.
What You’ll Do
Develop governance strategies:
Define policies and frameworks for data stewardship, data quality, and metadata management.
Facilitate data ownership:
Help identify data owners, stewards, and custodians and guide their responsibilities.
Improve data quality:
Design processes for data profiling, issue resolution, and ongoing monitoring.
Enable compliance:
Support data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance initiatives (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Promote data literacy:
Work with business and technical teams to educate and enable better data management practices.
Support tool implementation:
Assist with selecting and deploying data governance tools (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.).
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related consulting roles
Knowledge of data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, etc.)
Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging
Familiarity with privacy regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and facilitation skills—able to bridge business and technical conversations
Experience with governance platforms like Collibra, Informatica, or similar is a plus
