Overview
Clinical Social Worker III (LCSW/LMFT/LPCC) assigned to the Citywide Case Management CASC Team in partnership with the San Francisco Adult Probation Department (SFAPD). The incumbent will service a caseload of 25 individuals identified by SFAPD as needing mental health services. Clients will be re-entering the community after substantial and/or repeated periods of incarceration. The incumbent will provide comprehensive assessment, individual & group psychotherapy, crisis management, and linkages as needed. Clients will receive their mental health services at SFAPD’s Community Assessment and Service Center (CASC). The CSW III will lead a special project (e.g., collaborative court liaison, leading trainings, supervising interns) and can independently manage referrals and waitlists. The overall goal is to treat high risk clients, promote safe and sustained re-entry into the community, and reduce recidivism into the criminal justice system. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive assessment, individual and group psychotherapy, crisis management, and linkage to ongoing behavioral health care as needed. Serve clients at CASC and assist in connecting them to ongoing behavioral health care. Act as lead clinician on special projects (e.g., collaborative court liaison, trainings for new staff/partners, supervising interns). Independently manage referrals and waitlists for the position. Collaborate with CWCM and SFAPD to support high risk clients and reduce recidivism. Required Qualifications
Current California State License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). A minimum of two years working with severe mental illness, dually diagnosed adults, or justice-involved populations. Ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume environment; effective communication; attention to detail; ability to prepare written summaries and meet deadlines; knowledge of medical/psychiatric terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a culturally diverse team. Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs; demonstrated reliable attendance. Ability to work with clients and staff from diverse cultural and social backgrounds; ability to obtain San Francisco County Jail Clearance. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with severely mentally ill adults, the homeless, and dual diagnosed populations. Prior related UC experience; ability to provide mental health services in Spanish. About UCSF
