Overview
Operations Director - Site Leader role at MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business of Element Solutions Inc (NYSE:ESI). The purpose of this position is to direct and control all activities within the manufacturing operations of MAES and ESI at Itasca, IL related to its Semiconductor and Assembly business; to ensure continuous improvement in processes and key metrics, adherence to budget, development of people and processes, and enhancement of MAES competitive position and profitability. Oversee manufacturing, planning, purchasing, materials control, engineering, maintenance, warehousing & distribution, and environmental, health and safety. What will you be doing?
Participate in strategic planning Develop and execute operation management systems Coordinate operation costing and value systems Oversee expense and capital budget execution Implement manufacturing policies aligned with business plan Lead continuous improvement for quality, capability, satisfaction, and cost reduction Build an engaged and inclusive culture Develop and coach subordinates Facilitate interdepartmental relationships and synergy Handle customer issues for timely response and satisfaction Improve processes and profitability through data management Approve major purchases and capital expenditures Plan materials strategy and oversee inventory control Execute legislative/regulatory policy for company benefit Maintain industry contacts to stay current with competition Implement improvement programs for key metrics (delivery, quality, productivity, expenses, safety, housekeeping, complaints, overtime, training) Ensure a safe and inclusive workplace Direct safety/environmental program for a healthy work environment Represent the company in Integrated Management System (ISO9001, ISO14001, OSHA18001); IATF16949 knowledge is a plus Other duties as assigned Who are You?
Bachelor or Master level, technical or engineering degree 5-10 years’ experience in Operations or Supply Chain Management Experience in Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement environments Preferable experience in Semiconductor / Assembly business Language Skills: Desirable: Spanish and/or Mandarin Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific/technical journals, financial reports, business periodicals, and governmental regulations Ability to respond to inquiries/complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community Ability to write reports and business correspondence Ability to present information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors Mathematical Skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume); apply basic algebra concepts; work with probability and statistical inference; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Reasoning Ability: ability to apply logical/scientific thinking to a wide range of problems; ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs); ability to handle abstract and concrete variables We understand that not all candidates may meet the requirements listed above.
