RouteSmart - A FedEx Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our development team. This role reports to the Lead Software Engineer and is responsible for designing, coding, and supporting web applications and services, and for developing cross-platform routing systems that integrate GIS and mapping with intuitive design and seamless navigation. The ideal candidate provides end-user perspective to shape a functional, user-friendly experience. The typical base pay range at start is

$115,000-$130,000

per year. RouteSmart Technologies, Inc. has different base pay ranges for different U.S. locations and pay varies by experience. This is a hybrid role; candidates must be able to commute to the office in

Melville, NY

or

Columbia, MD . Candidates must reside within 50 miles and be available to work on-site several days per week. We will consider remote work for candidates domiciled in certain states: Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead and mentor other development staff in coordination with the Lead Software Engineer, including assigning and reviewing tasks Keep the team updated on relevant development technologies and integrate them into RouteSmart products Develop maintenance roadmaps for development frameworks, libraries, and tools Write both DDL and DML SQL commands, functions, and scripts Full stack development: client and server-side development Write well designed, testable, and efficient code using best practices Identify and fix errors in code Write backend services leveraged by web designers to create web products Research industry coding standards to improve security, quality, and performance Other duties as assigned Requirements

Working knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, MS SQL, etc.) and optimizing queries Working knowledge of GIS and mapping services Understanding of web application security, session management, and development best practices Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or related field Experience with C# and .NET Core development using Visual Studio and Microsoft tools 10+ years minimum experience as a programmer writing both client and server-side components Experience delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units Benefits
