Assistant Store Manager (HELE Salt Lake | Full-Time) at Par Pacific Holdings, Inc. Location: Honolulu (HELE Salt Lake), HI, US, 96818. Job Function: Retail. Requisition Number: 5488. Primary Job Responsibilities
Safety: Maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers by setting safety as a priority; ensure gas pumps, lot and store areas are clean and free of debris at all times; work with Safety Team and conduct monthly mandatory meetings and trainings; report safety incidents in a timely manner and comply with safety policy, programs and processes. Leadership and Personnel Management: Train, develop, guide and evaluate employees to operate the store effectively and safely to provide superior customer service; maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors; as back-up to Store Managers, prepare and submit all employee paperwork accurately and timely (e.g., performance appraisals, performance notices, new hire checklist); ensure continuous on-the-job and company required training; motivate, provide feedback and recognize employees to improve performance; address employee performance and violation issues as back-up; set and communicate performance expectations; develop potential employees through coaching and training for promotion; carry out all company policies. Customer Service and Site Relationships: Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service; accurately ring up sales on POS system and comply with cash handling procedures; develop positive relationships with customers, vendors and contractors; be responsible for all cash, monies and inventory during shift; ensure store is clean, stocked, and organized; promote a welcoming store environment and address customer needs; solicit feedback and resolve complaints promptly; promote a positive public image and Kama’aina Rewards program. Business and Management: Plan and manage store activities to maximize operating profit; monitor fuel sales volume and pricing strategies; monitor merchandise movement and competitor offerings; maintain store layout and product displays; execute store promotions and advertising campaigns; manage inventory and control operating expenses; prepare daily sales reports and deposits; safeguard money and organize site files; receive merchandise with proper check-in procedures; obtain required food and age-restricted product certifications within two weeks of employment. Facilities Management: Assist in maintaining appearance standards of paving, lighting, canopy and other structures; report facility issues; ensure facilities and equipment are in safe working order; maintain dispensing and store equipment; ensure necessary signage/decals are posted. Personnel Assistance: Maintain a professional image among subordinates and supervisor; work with Store Manager to foster teamwork and provide training assistance; assist with staffing and scheduling while staying within budget. To meet the basic qualifications for this role you will be at least 21 years of age or older and have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or sponsorship. Valid driver’s license required High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience in retail sales and handling cash required Ability to perform basic math accurately Previous supervisory experience preferred Benefits
