Sr. Project Manager - Team Leader Roadway in Chicago, IL. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our Chicago offices (Prudential Building or 222 S. Riverside Plaza). What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a Team Leader/Sr. Project Manager, Transportation to join our Practice or CBG Team in Chicago, IL. GFTs Transportation team offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity, including highways, bridges, traffic engineering, and multimodal roadway systems. The Chicago office seeks a Roadway Team Leader/Project Manager with minimum 15 years of Phase I and Phase II design and management experience to lead our roadway group in Chicago and manage personnel on highway, railroad/transit, and airport projects. The individual will work closely with other teams on multi-disciplinary projects and may be asked to develop preliminary engineering and detailed plans and specifications. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Lead an individual highway team of 4-6 engineers and technicians, including staffing plans, mentoring, and overseeing tasks to completion. Lead the development of civil design concepts, criteria, and technical direction on major tasks. Provide technical guidance on complex problems and obtain supervisory approval on proposed plans. Analyze information and data to perform routine design tasks. Independently make engineering decisions and represent the organization in meetings to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work. Ensure accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality of presentation, thoroughness, and conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards. Review design options and document findings from the design team. Interface with clients to provide technical solutions and ensure project satisfaction. Manage project budgets and schedules, track task progress, and manage changes in scope or additional services. Support development of statements of interests and proposals, including scope, approach, and cost estimates. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and professional engagement. Education & Experience

Minimum 15 years of related experience, including work with Illinois Tollway, Illinois DOT, Chicago DOT, Cook County DOT&H, local counties and municipalities, and Federally funded projects. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Additional experience with Metra, Amtrak, CTA or Class I Freight Railroads is preferred. Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Previous experience as a Project Manager leading projects is expected. Working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, Geopak, AutoCAD, Civil3D, MS Office, and other design software. Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is expected. Compensation

The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $200,000, dependent on experience and geographic location. Benefits
