Job Summary Performs a wide range of tasks including but not limited to: hanging cubical curtains, moving beds, cleaning entrances, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning carpets, spills, sweep and clean floors, burnish hallways and patient rooms, clean baseboards, vents, dust doors in hallways and meeting set-ups. The Floor Tech works under the direction of the shift Supervisor. Essential Functions

All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Consistently strip, wax and burnish floors with minimal or no assistance.

Safely operates various pieces of equipment necessary to effectively perform job functions, such as a high speed buffer, extractor, wet vacuum and auto scrubber.

Secures the work area and posts proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.

Provides floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, burnishing and scrubbing hard floor surfaces throughout the facility.

Provides carpet care, including vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpet and upholstery.

Completes routine dusting, wall cleaning, restroom scrubs and other projects as assigned.

Prepares meeting set-ups accurately and safely to the satisfaction of the Supervisor and the meeting requester.

Ensures that a preventative maintenance check has been performed on equipment prior to use and that all equipment has been cleaned and properly put away after the task is completed.

Routinely cleans up spills, soiled areas and other conditions as observed or directed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements Education - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience - Prior floor care experience is a plus but not a requirement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be willing to learn and identify, understand, and demonstrate a working knowledge of cleaning and floor care.

Display adequate communication and customer service skills.

With time and experience, expected to be proficient in their skills.

Need to have the ability to develop a thorough knowledge of cleaning procedures and cleaning/floor care techniques.

Must be able to read and write and follow oral and written instructions.
