role at

Amphenol Communications Solutions .

Overview Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are currently seeking a Sr. Manager of NPI Engineering to join our team. The Senior Manager of NPI Engineering will lead the execution of new product introduction (NPI) programs for advanced high-speed electrical connectors. This role will be responsible for managing the product launch cycle — from concept through design, validation, and production launch — ensuring technical excellence, manufacturability, and adherence to performance, quality, and time-to-market goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-speed connector design and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead the NPI Engineering team in the design and launch of high-speed electrical connector products, with focus on signal integrity, mechanical robustness, and manufacturing scalability.

Manage the complete NPI process, including prototyping, testing, tooling, and production ramp-up.

Collaborate with Signal Integrity (SI), Mechanical Design, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams to define product specifications and ensure system-level performance.

Oversee simulation and testing of signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and mechanical performance in support of product requirements.

Integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost optimization into early-stage product designs.

Lead cross-functional design reviews and stage-gate project approvals.

Develop and maintain engineering documentation including 3D/2D drawings, BOMs, validation reports, and customer specifications.

Drive continuous improvement of NPI processes, tools, and best practices for high-speed connector development.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering growth and innovation in a global business.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering

8+ years of experience in new product development for electrical connectors or high-speed interconnect systems.

3+ years of engineering leadership or NPI project management experience.

Experience launching products in a global environment

Understanding of high-speed signal transmission, impedance control, crosstalk, and insertion/loss considerations in connector design.

Experience with validation testing for high-frequency electrical and mechanical performance (e.g., eye diagram analysis, TDR, vibration/shock testing).

Proven track record managing NPI programs through a Phase Gate or APQP process.

Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across technical and business functions

Experience with high-speed connectors such as board-to-board, cable-to-board, backplane, or mezzanine systems

Familiarity with materials, plating processes, and high-volume connector manufacturing technologies (e.g., stamping, molding, plating, automated assembly).
