We are scaling High Performance Technology Teams across the East Coast (US). We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with a strong background in enterprise-scale migrations from on-premise to cloud. In this role, you will be instrumental in helping the organization modernize its infrastructure and applications by designing and executing Azure migration strategies, ensuring a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environment. Responsibilities
Lead and support the migration of enterprise workloads from on-premise datacenters to Microsoft Azure. Design, implement, and manage hybrid cloud solutions, including ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, and Active Directory integrations. Assess current on-premise environments, build migration roadmaps, and execute lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and modernization strategies. Configure and manage Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including VMs, VNets, Azure SQL, Storage, App Services, and AKS. Implement Infrastructure as Code IaC using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform for repeatable deployments. Ensure enterprise-grade security, governance, and compliance in accordance with frameworks such as the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework CAF and Well-Architected Framework. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, security, DevOps, application owners) to ensure smooth migration and integration. Optimize workloads for performance, availability, scalability, and cost efficiency. Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, with 3+ years in Microsoft Azure. Proven experience with large-scale enterprise migrations from on-premise to Azure. Strong knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, ExpressRoute, VPN). Expertise in Active Directory, Azure AD, hybrid identity, and RBAC. Experience with migration tools such as Azure Migrate, ASR (Azure Site Recovery), Database Migration Service, and third-party solutions. Hands-on experience with PowerShell, CLI, or Python for automation. Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for monitoring and troubleshooting. Microsoft certifications AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent strongly preferred. Preferred skills include experience with cloud governance at scale (Azure Policy, Management Groups, Landing Zones); knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning in Azure; exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation); and a strong understanding of security frameworks (Zero Trust, NIST, ISO, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
