Oak View Group is seeking a
Director of Technology Services
for the Amica Mutual Pavilion / Rhode Island Convention Center. This full-time role reports to Oak View Group and supports the live events technology offerings across the venue.
Location: Rhode Island, United States
Salary: $80,000-$85,000 per year; bonus eligible. Benefits include Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan with matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation, sick days, and 11 holidays).
This position will remain open until October 17, 2025.
About the venue The Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) is located in downtown Providence with 100,000 square feet of flexible exhibit space and 67,000 square feet of ballroom, breakout and meeting spaces. It is connected to the Amica Mutual Pavilion and the Omni Providence Hotel, and near Providence Place, offering dining and entertainment options.
Responsibilities
Manage all facets of show-related technology services including offerings, rate recommendations, sales, order taking and fulfilment, infrastructure, system maintenance, updates and upgrades, and administrative services including networks, telecom, hardware, and software.
Supervise and develop all administrative and show-related Technology Services personnel.
Meet with customers to explain offerings, develop show-specific plans, ensure customer satisfaction, and provide post-event follow-up to assist with future planning.
Stay informed on current and emerging technology in the entertainment industry, including administrative operations, security, cyber-security, event logistics, wireless and wired networks, telecommunications, and digital marketing.
Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for maximizing current technology offerings and planning future investments aligned with customer needs.
Regularly review and update the technology business model to maintain competitive offerings and pricing while maximizing value.
Create and implement administrative and event-related technology strategies and initiatives.
Prepare and manage annual budgets and plans for the Technology Services Department (administrative, revenue, and expense).
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of Information Technology experience with at least 3 years in management.
Self-starter able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
Experience with operational, administrative, and capital technology initiatives.
Ability and willingness to work a varied, deadline-driven event schedule.
