Job Description Streetsense is seeking a Project Architect with expertise in hospitality and/or multifamily projects to join our Interior Architecture team in Washington, DC. The Project Architect performs within a design team in a self-directed manner across multiple aspects of the Interior Architecture process. This includes the design and documentation of all design phases, construction documents, and construction administration activities, all while adhering to established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements. The role involves working within a team through various project types and phases, ensuring fully coordinated drawing sets, and understanding the scope of services agreed upon in contracts.

Responsibilities

Perform within a design team in a self-directed manner

in multiple aspects of the Interior Architecture process, including the design & documentation of all design phases, construction documents, and construction administration activities within established budgets, schedules, and programmatic requirements.

Coordinate internal project set up activities and assignments

such as Slack channels, Pinterest boards, and box folders.

Coordinate external project set up activities and assignments , including kick-off meetings with clients and BIM managers on the AOR team, client questionnaires, and consultant engagement.

Collaborate with Project Manager

to ensure schedule, deliverables, and allocated hours are being adhered to.

Utilize BIM technology

in the development of 3-dimensional models, documentation, and coordination.

Serve as primary contact for all consultants , and liaise directly with the client, as requested.

Produce high-quality drawing and documentation sets

that reduce rework, errors, and omissions.

Coordinate building systems

(structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with design intent.

Participate in construction administration , which includes the review of RFIs, submittals, and site visits to ensure accuracy.

Lead a 2-6 person team

through several project types across all phases of the design process, construction, and construction administration.

Produce fully coordinated sets of drawings

and

lead / mentor a team to do so .

Realize all the instruments of service agreed upon in the contract

to completely understand the scope and flag services requests not included.

Prepare workflow for junior team members

and identify development opportunities.

Perform QA/QC on all deliverables

prior to being presented to the client.

Oversee the development of the project

along with the production of construction documents and oversight of construction administration, while liaising directly with clientele and consultants.

Hold an experienced understanding of building codes, zoning, and planning regulations

and review drawings regularly to assure projects meet all relevant codes.

Manage client, contractor, and consultants , including schedules, contracts, and deliverables.

Qualifications

Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture

from a CIDA or NAAB-accredited program.

8+ years of post-graduate professional experience , preferably within the Hospitality Industry.

Advanced Proficiency and ability to train in Revit, BIM360, and Enscape .

Hand drafting/sketching skills.

Advanced Proficiency and ability to train in graphic and presentation skills

in Adobe Creative Suite.

Advanced Proficiency and ability to train in construction documentation production, project specifications, and shop drawing review .

Advanced Proficiency and ability to train in construction material and contractor specifications .

Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

to provide high quality service to clients.
