Overview
Our client is looking for a proactive and seasoned Finance Director to oversee the company’s entire financial and accounting operations. This role carries end-to-end accountability for all finance-related activities, including compliance with government contracting regulations, system integrations, payroll and tax administration, budgeting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with at least 10 years of leadership experience in small to medium-sized enterprises, with strong expertise in NetSuite, government contract compliance (DCAA), and enterprise financial platforms.
Responsibilities
Financial Leadership and Management
Take full charge of the finance and accounting team and functions
Oversee month-end closing processes, general ledger accuracy, and preparation of financial statements
Direct budgeting efforts, financial forecasting, and cash management
Enterprise System Proficiency
Extensive hands-on experience with NetSuite covering:
Core finance and ledger operations
Procure-to-pay and order-to-cash workflows
Inventory control and project-related accounting
HR administration and time tracking modules
Manage integration of expense management tools such as Concur through middleware solutions like Wipli
Oversee treasury platforms similar to Bank of America CashPro and corporate card programs
Regulatory and Contractual Compliance
Ensure adherence to DCAA standards, including labor allocation, cost distribution, billing, and project reporting requirements
Support federal invoicing processes, audit preparations, and contract rate negotiations
Prepare detailed project status and cost performance reports
Taxation and Payroll Management
Coordinate corporate and payroll tax compliance alongside external consultants
Guarantee accurate tax classification and timely remittance
Operational and Strategic Financial Excellence
Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies
Assist in pricing strategies and proposal development for government and state-level contracts
Provide financial insights and analysis to executive leadership to guide business growth
Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential (REQUIRED)
A minimum of 10 years in progressively responsible finance leadership roles within small to mid-sized organizations
Demonstrated ability to manage full finance department operations
Extensive experience working in government contracting, preferably with the DoD (REQUIRED)
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and complex financial modeling
Expert user and administrator of NetSuite across multiple modules as detailed above
Strong knowledge of DCAA compliance and cost accounting standards
Familiarity with Concur, treasury management platforms, and corporate card systems
Proven experience handling corporate and payroll tax matters
