Environmental Scientist role at Tetra Tech in Honolulu, HI. We are seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist for our Honolulu operations to work at our client site in Pearl City. Responsibilities

This is at least a 1-year temporary internal dedicated position to provide support to the Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response (HEER) Office. The term of this position may be extended. Job responsibilities may include: Managing projects of varying size and complexity Field audits and inspections for various sites, including evaluating whether site activities are in compliance with EHMPs or Construction EHMPs on file with the HEER Office Organizing and reviewing data Preparing and conducting technical reviews of reports Coordinating/Planning field investigations of contaminated sites Planning and/or performing multi-media sampling, including soil (multi-increment (MI)) sampling, groundwater and surface water sampling, and soil gas sampling on sites with potentially hazardous substances Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of practical scientific, environmental engineering or environmental consulting work experience in performing the responsibilities listed below: A minimum of 3 years of environmental consulting experience in Hawaii is required for this position, including writing and reviewing submittals to the DOH HEER Office Overall familiarity with the HEER Office program - TGM, SAPs, EHMPs, C-EHMPs, iHEER, site inspections for compliance, etc. Demonstrated experience conducting site investigations, and practical field experience performing multi-media sampling including groundwater, soil and soil gas Managing projects Interacting with clients Working on field projects under federal and state regulatory programs Knowledgeable in preparing technical reports (Sampling and Analysis Plans, Phase I and II ESAs) In Addition

Experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality, ecological restoration, radiological issues, and/or water resources a plus GIS data analysis and geo-statistics, and data management skills a plus Knowledge of federal and state regulations is expected Analytical skills related to qualitative and quantitative data Strong technical and non-technical writing Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment Excellent interpersonal, communication, client interaction and project management skills are required Information and data analysis Multi-tasking and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and strong organizational skills Proficiency with MS Office applications is required Degree / Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or physical sciences (e.g., geology, biology hydrology, toxicology, health physics) OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER a plus Work Environment

This Position Involves Both Office And Field Environments. You Will Be In An Embedded / dedicated Position With The DOH HEER Office. You Must Be Able To Drive on a regular basis. This position will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check. You must maintain a good driving record. Travel - Predominantly various sites across Oahu, but will include outer island day trips for site inspections, sampling, etc. Conduct necessary fieldwork in a variety of environments and topography and possibly uneven terrain; predominantly developed sites, but work may include farmland/agricultural fields. Don personal protective equipment if/as needed. Carry field equipment (35 to 40 pounds). Life At Tetra Tech
