Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior GCP Cloud Consultant/Lead with focus on Vertex AI to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of IT experience with a significant portion in cloud architectures and deployments, including at least 4 years hands-on with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires deep GCP architecture expertise, a track record of leading large-scale cloud transformations, and strong leadership to mentor junior teammates and advise C-level executives.
You will design, implement, and optimize complex, secure, and scalable cloud solutions for enterprise clients, guiding digital transformation from concept to reality.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Architecture: Serve as the primary technical leader for GCP, guiding clients through their cloud journey and designing multi-layered architectures aligned with business objectives, security requirements, and cost optimization.
Lead design sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate GCP value; develop and champion best practices for cloud architecture, security, and governance.
Assess on-premises or existing cloud environments to develop strategic migration and modernization roadmaps.
Implementation & Delivery: Oversee end-to-end implementation of large-scale cloud migration projects (re-hosting, re-platforming, re-architecting).
Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager); design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Google Cloud tools and third-party solutions.
Provide hands-on guidance for networking, security, and performance; ensure solutions are highly available and resilient using GCP services such as GKE, Cloud Load Balancing, and Cloud Monitoring.
Mentorship & Client Engagement: Mentor junior consultants and client engineering teams; communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management and executives.
Manage client relationships, timelines, budgets, and deliverables; contribute to pre-sales activities, proposals, and effort estimation.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of professional cloud computing experience; last 3-4 years in a hands-on GCP consultant/architect role.
Proven experience leading multiple full-lifecycle cloud transformation projects for enterprise clients.
Technical Skills:
Deep expertise across GCP services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, etc.).
Extensive IaC experience (Terraform preferred).
Strong cloud security knowledge (IAM, VPC Service Controls, network security).
Scripting/automation (Python, Bash, or Go); DevOps, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes.
Experience with data analytics and ML services on GCP (Dataflow, Dataproc, AI Platform) is highly desirable.
Exposure to Vertex AI and agent development kit.
Certifications:
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect required.
Additional certifications (e.g., Professional DevOps Engineer, Professional Security Engineer) preferred.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with practical solutions orientation.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated leadership to influence and inspire others.
Ability to work with business stakeholders and align deliverables with goals.
