We are currently seeking skilled embedded software engineers to develop flight-critical firmware, with a focus on advanced drone pilot assistance features. About this Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer. This role is embedded with our software engineering organization and is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting our network infrastructure to ensure high availability and security across all our internal and externally deployed systems. This role works on both internal IT infrastructure and customer facing network infrastructure as part of our Drone as First Responder (DFR) installations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, integrity, and efficiency of our network operations, while also contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance our connectivity and scalability as our company, product portfolio, and installation footprint grows. Engineering roles at BRINC require a high level of ownership and initiative, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex, undefined problems. Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and deploy functional network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, switches, and routers)

Monitor network performance and integrity using a combination of tools and best practices

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network/system issues

Maintain and update documentation for network configurations and procedures

Implement security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls

Coordinate with customer support teams during customer facing infrastructure installations, upgrades, and support

Conduct network performance tuning and capacity planning

Support disaster recovery and backup systems related to network operations

Participate in on-call rotation for incident response and urgent troubleshooting

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Minimum 3+ years of experience in a network engineering role, or 5+ years of experience without a bachelors degree

Proficiency in configuring network equipment from a variety of vendors/suppliers (Cisco, Juniper, Mikotik)

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies (VLANs, STP)

Experience with firewalls and security systems

Solid understanding of network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities

Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS VPCs and Transit Gateways, Azure, GCP)

Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) for automation of network tasks

Preferred Skills

5+ years of experience in a network engineering role

CCNP or JNCIS?ENT certification

Experience with cellular networking technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G, SIM provisioning, carrier integration)

Deep understanding of complex VPN architectures, including site-to-site, client-based, and multi-hop configurations

Familiarity with Quality of Service (QoS) implementation and traffic prioritization strategies

Hands-on experience with advanced routing and failover techniques

Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and deployment methodologies

Understanding of wireless networking principles, including spectrum management and roaming optimization

Hands?on experience with network security fundamentals, including segmentation (zoning), ACL design, and adversarial testing (red?team exercises).
