MLA Engineering has a unique opportunity for an experienced structural engineer to join our growing consulting and design firm. Our diverse, specialized projects require critical thinking and creativity that is cultivated through a problem‑solving approach in a flexible work environment. We design new buildings and renovate existing structures in concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood-framed constructions. We have a specialized niche in the structural design of aquarium and zoo facilities in the United States and abroad. Our projects vary from small to large buildings and facilities, including building design and governmental projects, and infrastructure at county and state levels.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design of new buildings and renovations in concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood framing.
Apply practical and technical knowledge to develop safe, efficient structural systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project goals and deadlines.
Engage in project development from concept through construction documentation.
Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and design computations using industry-standard software.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a structural engineering consulting design office;
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred;
Strong technical and analytical skills; intuitive and practical approach;
Proficient in REVIT as a design tool;
Proficient with structural software such as RISA, ETABS, SAP2000;
Excellent communication skills; motivated to grow as an engineer.
Location & Schedule Location: Downtown Seattle waterfront area with convenient public transit access. Flexible, hybrid office schedule.
