Day to Day Our Senior Transportation Engineering Project Manager will help foster livable communities across the country. Projects range from natural surface trails to large arterial multi-use paths; from Complete Streets to regional/multi-state bicycle and trail networks.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Manage a variety of transportation projects from design through construction. Drive project success and manage budgets.
Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency.
Mentor staff and contribute to internal professional development of the engineering team.
Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Engineering team; collaborate with planning, landscape, and data disciplines as needed.
Prepare schedules, budgets, and scopes of services for projects.
Balance workloads.
Support regional leadership in business development.
Qualifications Required
12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity; 5+ years as a Project Manager; 3+ years managing staff
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Traffic Engineer (T.E.) licensure
Experience in active, non-motorized transportation
Experience preparing Plans, Specifications and Estimates packages for roadway projects, with a solid understanding of project management principles
Ability to guide staff and manage internal team expectations
Entrepreneurial initiative and ability to enhance Alta’s position in the marketplace
Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects involving cross-functional teams within budget and schedule constraints
Willingness to travel
Excellent professional ethics, leadership, accountability, and decision-making
Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, MS Project or equivalent, and AutoCAD or MicroStation
Proficiency in an enterprise-wide resource planning and project management tool
Preferred
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Experience managing large projects for both private and public clients
Experience using Deltek Vision
Active participation in industry-relevant professional associations and committees

Compensation
The pay range for this job in Minneapolis is
$125,000-$175,000
annually. Placement within the range is based on experience, skill-sets, and qualifications.
Alta offers comprehensive benefits to all full-time employees:

401(k) : Alta provides a match up to 3%
