As part of their ongoing growth strategy, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Credit Officer to join the executive leadership team.

Role Overview The Chief Credit Officer will be a strategic leader responsible for the oversight, development, and execution of the bank’s credit strategy. The role requires a deep understanding of credit risk management, regulatory compliance, and lending best practices across retail, commercial, and corporate portfolios. The CCO will play a critical role in shaping the bank’s risk culture and ensuring the integrity and quality of the loan book.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the bank’s credit risk strategy, policies, and procedures.

Oversee credit risk assessment, underwriting, approval, and monitoring processes across all lending portfolios.

Lead a high-performing credit team, fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the organisation.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements related to credit risk.

Monitor portfolio performance and provide regular reporting and insights to the CEO, Board, and risk committees.

Partner with other business leaders to balance growth objectives with risk appetite.

Drive continuous improvement in credit risk analytics, systems, and reporting tools.

Lead credit risk stress testing, scenario analysis, and early warning systems.

Candidate Profile

Proven experience in a senior credit risk or lending leadership role, ideally within a regional or national bank.

Strong understanding of credit risk management frameworks, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Professional qualifications in finance, risk management, or banking (e.g., CFA, FRM, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
