Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance to the IT Engineering Team, consisting of SMEs in Systems and Networks.
Ensure projects are properly scoped, planned, prioritized, resourced, executed, and documented.
Oversee the transition of engineering efforts from Design and Implementation to Sustainment and Operation in line with the Service Delivery Lifecyle.
Act as Operations Person-In-Charge when the Operations Manager and Operations Deputy are unavailable.
Coordinate internal and external resources for IT engineering projects and tasks.
Manage Engineering Team activities and engagements with internal and external parties (e.g., OEMs, Vendors).
Provide Tier-4 & 5 support to Enterprise Services and serve as a point of incident escalation and coverage.
Communicate effectively within the Engineering Team and cross-organizationally with other Teams and Branches.
Evaluate new services, technologies, software, tools, and devices to improve Enterprise capabilities for automation and orchestration.
Perform supervisory and administrative oversight of managed personnel, including recruiting, onboarding, direction/guidance, training, assessment, and mentorship where applicable.
Regularly collect and summarize IT Engineering accomplishments, issues, and concerns.
Participate in IT-relevant special projects as required.
Maintain an active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
Provide the required educational background or equivalent experience (e.g., Bachelors in IT or 10+ years in Enterprise IT Engineering in DoD environments with 5+ years in design and delivery of complex IT infrastructures).
Maintain DoD 8570 IAT-III compliance (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH).
Advanced knowledge of VDI/virtualization platforms (e.g., Citrix, VMware, Azure Cloud/Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV) and related infrastructure.
Advanced knowledge of IT security (Zero-trust, MFA, AD/ADFS, certificates, encryption, auditing, logging).
Experience with network services (DNS, DHCP, UC, Cisco VoIP/Call Manager).
Strong understanding of modern operating systems (Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and secure access configurations.
Experience with NSA CSfC requirements, MSCCP, MACP; CDS and/or DISA TNE exposure.
Prior supervisory experience and ability to lead a distributed team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; customer-service oriented.
Ability to support 24/7 operations, including during exercises.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in IT or related field; additional certifications in relevant platforms (e.g., Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HPE/Aruba, ITIL, Juniper, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware).
Advanced understanding of storage (NAS/SAN), high availability, clustering, and archiving.
Experience with Microsoft backend services in distributed data centers (SQL Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint).
Extended knowledge of networking (switching/routing, installation, configuration).
Experience with Cisco, Brocade, HPE/Aruba, Palo Alto network solutions.
Familiarity with DoD protocols, procedures, and regulations; knowledge of C2 applications and program support.
Experience with Help Desk/software tools (Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow).
Working conditions are normal for an office environment; fast-paced, deadline-oriented; may require non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
