Textron Systems - ATAC provides tactical flight training and adversary aggressor services for U.S. Navy, Marine and Air Force pilots, and is the only organization certified to train the Navy’s TOPGUN program. ATAC operates across eight sites and two continents and comprises the world’s largest outsourced civilian, tactical airborne training organization. ATAC was the first civilian organization authorized to train the USAF’s F-22 Raptors.

The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for maintenance actions on ATAC aircraft as well as the safe and expeditious launch and recovery flight line operations at permanent and detachment sites. Responsibilities

Maintenance efforts in support of company commitments Proficient in one type/model aircraft and helper on additional type/model aircraft Utilize AMS program Training of maintenance personnel Manage assigned maintenance programs Assist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary) Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualification Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging and surface controls Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other inspections Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories; perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections Interpret technical documentation to solve problems Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects Additional responsibilities as delineated by Production Supervisor and Crew Chiefs Manage programs as assigned Qualifications

Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or at least 5 years of military aircraft maintenance equivalency Ability to perform unsupervised complex maintenance actions; may hold or have held a QAR, engine turn qualification, or advanced troubleshooting experience; capable of managing collateral programs and training junior mechanics Competent in use of specialized tooling and/or test equipment; may supervise aircraft servicing Ability to lift 50 lbs; ability to climb in and out of aircraft; ability to stand for long periods How We Care
