Overview
Principal Antenna Engineer – SatCom Systems with Vivid Technology (on behalf of a global leader in the SATCOM space). The client is seeking an experienced Principal Antenna Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of next-generation Ku- and Ka-band SatCom systems, including Electronically Steered Antennas (ESA) and advanced phased arrays. Base pay range information is provided for context and will be discussed with the recruiter. What You’ll Do
Lead the design and development of Ku-/Ka-band SatCom antennas, RF systems, phased arrays, and ESAs from concept to production. Architect and optimize antenna system designs using advanced EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST) and physical modeling. Oversee RF lab operations, including DVT testing, measurements, automation, and prototyping. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate beamforming MMICs, polarizers, radomes, and controllers into high-performance systems. Define system specifications and estimate AESA performance parameters including radiator types, element counts, beam scan ranges, G/T, and EIRP. Develop design documents, test plans, and technical reports to support prototype validation and volume production. Provide technical leadership and mentorship, guiding engineering teams and supporting manufacturing partners. What We’re Looking For
15+ years of hands-on experience in antenna and RF system design for SatCom, phased arrays, and ESA technologies. Mastery of simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, or equivalent. Proven expertise in phased-array antennas, beamforming architectures, and RF testing methodologies. Leadership experience managing engineering teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field preferred. Why Join
