Our client, a publicly traded media company, is seeking a Sr. Director, Financial Systems to play a critical leadership role in managing financial close, consolidation, reporting systems, and governance. This position will partner with senior finance leadership, controllership, and IT teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and system integrity. The ideal candidate is a CPA with deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and financial systems such as SAP and OneStream. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the period-end financial close process, ensuring transactions are properly recorded, reviewed, and supported in compliance with GAAP, SOX, and company policies. Lead preparation of financial data for SEC quarterly filings, collaborating with External Reporting and Investor Relations to maintain disclosure controls and procedures. Design, maintain, and govern corporate master data, structures, hierarchies, and controls enabling corporate consolidations and external reporting. Partner with senior finance executives to drive OneStream consolidation and reporting initiatives. Act as a Subject Matter Expert in foreign exchange calculation and reporting, managing interaction between corporate, management, and local reporting. Maintain centralized control over financial ledgers and consolidation processes within SAP and OneStream, including monthly balancing and annual opening balance creation. Govern and enhance financial systems strategy, collaborating with Controllership and IT to implement system improvements. Support implementation of changes in financial reporting standards and regulations. Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy of reporting. Deliver timely and accurate management reporting (regular and ad hoc). Lead, mentor, and develop staff by setting objectives, providing guidance, and evaluating results. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit. Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, U.S. GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and SOX compliance. Experience in a publicly traded company or Big 4 accounting firm preferred. Proven leadership ability with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Expertise with SAP and OneStream financial reporting systems. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and transparency. Seniority level
