The Environmental Team is seeking a
Senior Underwriter
whose primary responsibility is to underwrite individual risks through demonstrated skills in underwriting fundamentals, risk assessment, financial proficiency, marketing and communications, and use of systems and programs. Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with Regional Manager, Underwriting Team and other unit and region colleagues Execute regional marketing and sales strategies including prospecting, cross-sell and upsell initiatives Conduct local and regional agency and broker visitations Solicit new and renewal submissions from brokers Determine terms, conditions and pricing using approved rating plans, underwriting guidelines and authority structures Adhere to all underwriting standards and guidelines as outlined by the Division including applicable Underwriting Guidelines, Authorities and Position Papers Bind coverage and ensure accurate and timely policy issuance, premium booking and billing, manuscript forms and endorsement processes, and file construction and documentation Document underwriting files thoroughly and accurately Handle more complex files and portfolios within underwriting authority Qualifications
3-5 years underwriting or related environmental experience (broking, consulting, engineering, etc.) Bachelor’s degree Knowledge of insurance industry Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures Proficient oral and written communication skills Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Internet usage About Us
